Hello everybody,
maybe you know me from ps3hvdoc.wikispaces.com. But this isn't improtant for now. The important thing is: metldr has been located in a PS3 Memory Dump (using IsoMick's method (atmega8...)). Just take a look at: http://ps3hvdoc.wikispaces.com/Hypervisor+RE
I wanted to encourage you to code some software to decrypt the PS3 FW update file. So stop searching metldr/trying to dump lv2 and code that program. According to geohot's blog. It IS possible to load metldr into a SPU and from that load the loader of your wish and decrypt everything you want!
He did start coding such a program: http://pastie.org/795371
Try to understand his code and please finish it!
Best regards

Asking or telling people to do something for you isn't going to get very far around here. |

@jimparis: It isn't for me! It is for the PS3 Scene. Whatever, someone did it before: http://www.piemontewireless.net/How_to_load_METLDR_in_ps3
Great work so far! The next step would be to code some SW which loads lv2ldr.self into metldr and decrypts the PS3 FW (or whatever you want!) AFAIK, you can do that with something like that: "lv2ldr.self ps3updat.pup" Look at the PS2dev wiki for further info's!
Best regards!
PS: I'm gonna document that code on the PS3HVDOC Wiki. Maybe on the PS2Dev Wiki too. |
